I'm trying here to get a new unique look, using just rounded buttons.

4D (4Dots) is a metacity theme intended to be used with the famous ElementaryGTK [link] by DanRabbit.

About the work:

-This theme is real and not just a mockup, so download, test and report bugs...
-This is more than just a copy of eGTK (looks similar though :) ).
-I used my own buttons (started from scratch) rather than modifying the existing ones.
-It's based on the latest eHomosapien code.

Is is really eGTK theme on your screenshot?

I think your scrollbars are different than the original theme. If I'm right, could You release it?

Yes, it is eGTK, I hate the new scrollbar arrows so I used Gnome-color-chooser [link] and changed the Engine(Global) to Murrine, that's it no actual modification to the eGtK at all.

LOL, I also hate original scrollbars and usually change them with Gnome-color-chooser :)

I noticed that I get slow performance after playing with G-c-c, can you confirm that for me please?

It might depend on speed of chosen GTK engines and number of chosen engines. More engines working in parallel to draw separate UI elements need more resources.

You can check GTK engines and themes performance with GtkPerf [link] [link]

Sorry about the cut, I was saying that I installed a lot of potential problems (Latest RC8 kernel, latest X edgers ATI drivers, ...) so I'm trying to figure out the problem.

thanks for the help :)

I'm using Arch Linux with Nvidia drivers, so I can't confirm any of your problems (You have different soft- and hardware configuration).

You can try to remove light circles around blue ones and replace blue-to-lightblue gradient with gray-dark gray (as it present in tray icons on elementary-monochrome icons). That would be wonderfull.
